Great stay! Arrived just after 2pm and was warmly greeted and quick process to get keys. Receptionist took us over to the apartment complex and showed us carpark and room. Excellent self-contained apartment! Tastefully furnished and very cozy with heat pump and great kitchen. Very spacious and QUIET! On top floor, had some stairs but all good for us. Opposite the Russell Museum and had a street view. Supermarket and restaurants only minutes from apartment, the historical Christ Church behind us which was great. We loved the staff, apartment and location, will definitely stay at same apartment again as we selected that specific room. Excellent WIFI and Smart TV so easy screaming my Amazon Prime and YouTube to TV. Nice shower with plenty of hot water and excellent pressure. Secure undercover parking. Thank you and very pleased with experience and cleanliness.

My partner and I stayed in the apartments across the road from the main lodge which suited us. We stayed in apartment 11 which had a separate bedroom to the living room which was very well appointed and comfortable. Nev and Celina were very accommodating and knowledgeable about the area even lending us fishing gear! Restaurants, supermarket, shops and wharf are all on your doorstep, so the car was hardly used. We had secure undercover parking. Highly recommended.

Beautiful room, super clean, great location! I loved this wee boat shed room. And the service was great too. You can tell that this establishment is very well run and organised and the whole place is ship shape and right on the water with parking to.

Lovely stay at Hananui Lodge and Apartments. We stayed over new year and they could not be more accommodating. It was a gorgeous location and beautifully clean accommodation. We hired the kayaks and they were fantastic to bring them out for us and pack them away. Really recommend to couples and families alike!

We had an amazing stay at Hananui! It’s such a cozy, beautiful spot. The staff were genuinely lovely and super helpful. The room was spotless and beautifully set up, and getting there was a breeze. The value for money is fantastic—right in the perfect location, walking distance to everything in town and just steps from the beach. I’d highly recommend Hananui to anyone looking for a great place to stay

Hananui is perfectly located on the waterfront and in the village of Russell. Nev and Celina are wonderful hosts, and the rooms are very tidy and well stocked. A very comfortable stay – and the views can’t be beat. I’ve stayed here before and I’ll continue to stay here! Russell is not only historic, but the most charming town in NZ – and the Bay of Islands is magnificent!

Our family of three recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hananui Lodge & Apartments in Russell, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We stayed in one of their waterfront apartments, and the location was absolutely perfect – right on the edge of the bay, with stunning views of the water right from our balcony. It was a treat to wake up each morning to such beautiful scenery.
The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The open plan living area made it easy for us to relax as a family, and the kitchen had all the essentials to prepare meals when we wanted to stay in. The bathroom was modern, and we especially appreciated the extra touches like the fresh towels and amenities provided.
One of the highlights of our trip was the fishing. Russell is a great location for this, and we made the most of it, spending a lot of time on the water. The kids loved it, and we were able to bring back a few catches to cook up for dinner.
Aside from the fishing, we really appreciated the peaceful and laid-back vibe of the area. Russell itself is charming, with plenty of places to explore, including the nearby beaches, local shops, and restaurants. Plus, we were just a short drive from some of the best attractions in the Bay of Islands.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Hananui Lodge & Apartments. The combination of a prime location, fantastic views, and a welcoming atmosphere made it the perfect choice for our family. We’d love to return in the future and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in Russell.
