Can’t rate this accommodation highly enough. The central, but quiet location is the absolute star with stunning views across the bay. It’s a very short walk to the restaurants, cafes and shops in Russell. The beds were very comfortable, with really good pillows. The balconies were great as you could watch the world wander past. The service was good and the rooms immaculately clean.
Very clean and nicely furnished. Plenty of room for luggage. Small balcony which overlooked the street opposite the museum so not a sea view but perfect nonetheless. Right in Russell town. Car secured in locked garage.

Our apartment was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Kristine and Shane our hosts were very helpful and checking in was a breeze. Would definitely recommend staying here and hope to get back to Russell soon. Very handy to wharf, shops and cafes.
As soon as we arrived we were met by a warm and friendly greeting from Shane. He then proceeded to take time and be very informative to provide all the necessary details to accompany our stay including information on free booking of the spa pool. The apartment itself was immaculately presented and very comfortable with a perfect location to enjoy Russell. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Russell.
My Mum and I stayed in one of the beachfront apartments for 9 nights and absolutely loved it! We had only booked for 6 but decided to stay on for another 3 nights as we loved it so much. Shane and Kirstine (the managers) were so unbelievably accommodating going above and beyond to make our stay just perfect. Rooms were nice and clean and the spa is a great add on. Plus stunning views!! I would highly recommend staying at Hananui Lodge! For those of you that also love a bit of heritage – the Russell Museum is right next door as well as lovely restaurants and a supermarket in very close walking distance. Such a brilliant stay thank you Shane and Kirstine. Highly recommended!!
How lucky we were to stay at Hananui Lodge! We booked their last double room and were so pleased with every aspect when we arrived. A warm, friendly greeting from Jo at reception, a lovely spacious well-equipped and immaculate room where we slept very well. We stayed a second night and would have stayed a third had they not been, unsurprisingly, fully-booked. A perfect place to stay in this pretty, interesting town
A fantastic find! It started with a very friendly greeting from the owner even though we arrived earlier than we should have. The room was spotlessly clean and had a very nice feel to it. You could not fault the service we received.
On the waterfront, 1 minute from the wharf. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff and within walking distance of all cafes and restaurants in Russell. We didn’t use the spa room so can’t comment on that. I would definitely stay here again. Beautiful sunsets over the wharf.
Our hosts were fabulous and made our stay very enjoyable. Location was on the water front and we could sit in our courtyard area and see the sea and activity in Russell. Sipping a glass of wine, watching the boats and soaking up the relaxed atmosphere. Heaven!! Rating 1-5 stars: 5 stars

We have visited Russell and Hananui Lodge annually for 5-years and the Lodge is always presented immaculately. The service is outstanding and management attend to every detail in a meticulous manner. Highly recommended.
Hananui Lodge is located right on Russell’s waterfront with beautiful sunset sea views.
